Do you like to paint? Volunteers are needed to help paint a mural at University Place Elementary School. Send us your contact information under “get involved.”
Earlier in November, a group of elementary school students came to visit the University of Alabama campus. During their visit, they saw the Ferguson Center, took a formal campus tour, took a tour of Bryant-Denny Stadium and a tour of the WVUA-23 studio.
During their visit, the students were welcomed by Dr. Marysia Galbraith and escorted by students in her New College Cooperation and Conflict course this semester. The college students planned the field trip and participate in other ARTS workshops throughout the semester.
Take a look at these great pictures and let us know if you’re interested in getting involved with the ARTS program.
Like gingerbread houses? Enjoy making Christmas ornaments?
Want to help the local community?
Come volunteer with us at Matthews Elementary next Thursday, Dec. 10th. We’ll be car pooling from the Ferguson Center at 12:30 and arriving back at 2:30. We’ll have 80 students for Gingerbread Houses (4th Graders) and then another 80 for ornaments (2nd Graders), and we could use all the help we can get.
Mindy Mann will be leading this workshop. You can contact her at mvmann@crimson.ua.edu or 205-861-8288 with any questions.
